‘Pressure cooker’ gang smuggled £280,000 of heroin into country

TWO PEOPLE JAILED IN THEIR ABSENCE AFTER GOING ON THE RUN
The drugs were hidden inside a pressure cooker
A GANG from Birmingham who used a pressure cooker to hide heroin has been jailed.
The gang stuffed the cooker with more than £280,000 of heroin in a bid to get it into the UK.
But customs officers intercepted the parcel on Monday, July 24, 2023.
They removed the drugs, but then allowed the parcel to be delivered to its destination, a business in Formans Road, Sparkhill.
The package was picked up by Abid Iqbal, who was then arrested along with his associates Fasheeh Ahmed and Muhammad Awais.
