TRANSFORMATION OF LISTED BUILDING SET TO BEGIN

- KIRSTY BOSLEY News Reporter

Breathing new life into historic hotel

WORK is set to begin on the transformation of the Murdoch and Pitman Chambers in Birmingham's Corporation Street - a grade II*-listed Birmingham hotel which once played host to Mahatma Gandhi.

It is a year since it was revealed that funding of £1.8m had been made available to turn the 19th century space into a brand new four star hotel.

Now the construction contract is being finalised and construction is set to begin converting and extending the building to a luxurious 156-room hotel.

Trigram Properties confirmed it was preparing to start work on the redevelopment with construction expected to commence in the next few months.
