Govt assures subsidy access
Bangkok Post
|May 27, 2026
The government insists no eligible participant will be denied rights to the Thais Help Thais Plus co-payment subsidy scheme, with about 5 million places still available for registration.
Finance permanent secretary Lavaron Sangsnit said the scheme is designed to ensure full coverage for qualified applicants rather than create competition for rights. He stressed that anyone meeting the conditions and accepting the programme terms will receive benefits, adding that the planned 30 million entitlements are sufficient to meet demand.
Mr Lavaron said the requirement for participants to register via the “Paotang” app of Krungthai Bank is linked to consent procedures under the scheme rather than a limitation on access. He rejected concerns that the rollout forces citizens into a race for eligibility, saying the process is administrative and intended to confirm participation conditions.
