ARMED police and a dog unit were called into action in the early hours after a suspicious vehicle was spotted in East Lancashire.

Armed police chase ends with alley arrests

Armed police spotted a suspicious brown BMW 530D on Lonsdale Street in Accrington

At around 12.10am on Thursday, April 16, officers from Lancashire Police Specialist Operations noticed a brown BMW 530D on Lonsdale Street in Accrington which failed to stop when signalled. The vehicle was later found abandoned on Dunster Avenue in Oswaldtwistle.

A police dog unit was deployed and tracked the suspects to Blackburn Road, where officers discovered two men in an alleyway.
