Ajinkya Firodia outlines Kinetic's EV strategy, focusing on robotics, localisation and system integration to shape future-ready manufacturing and global ambitions.

The Electric Renaissance of an Indian Icon

The landscape of Indian mobility is changing, one that is as much about the silent hum of electric motors as it is about the rhythmic clatter of robotic arms on a high-precision assembly line.

At the heart of this transformation stands the Kinetic Group, a name that has been synonymous with democratising transport for over half a century. It has built a reputation in Indian mobility. Today, under Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman, the company is in the middle of what he describes plainly as generational reset; a reset that promises to redefine Indian manufacturing for the next fifty years. The launch of the Kinetic DX in the two-wheeler EV segment is the most visible marker of this shift. But as Firodia explains, the change runs far deeper than a new product. It is about how Kinetic manufactures, what it manufactures in-house and where it intends to sit in the global EV supply chain in the decade ahead.

A generational reset

For decades, Kinetic was the brand that put India on wheels with the iconic Luna, a vehicle that became a symbol of independence for millions. The recent 'grand debut' of the Kinetic DX in the two-wheeler EV segment is far more than a product launch. It represents a reimagining of an entire manufacturing identity. Firodia is clear that the DX EV is not simply a product milestone. He says, "For over 50 years, Kinetic's identity was built around democratising mobility through robust, affordable engineering. With the DX EV, we are reimagining that same philosophy for the electric age."

Now, with the DX EV, that same philosophy of robust, affordable engineering is being translated into the language of the 21st century. This is a story of legacy meeting future-ready technology, where the "Made in India" label is no longer just a mark of origin, but a global benchmark for innovation, precision, and sustainability.
