CAN CONCRETE FEEL ALIVE?

August 2025

Confluence designs the Gaur NYC Experience Centre in Ghaziabad, as a sensorial ode to fluid form and material tactility – challenging the notion of concrete as cold and inert.

Situated along the bustling NH 24 corridor in Delhi NCR, the Gaur NYC Experience Centre redefines how we experience built environments. Designed by Confluence Architecture, the space is a poetic response to the often rigid, utilitarian language of real estate marketing centres. Instead of defaulting to rectilinear glass boxes, the Experience Centre is envisioned as a flowing, tactile, and deeply immersive environment that draws its core inspiration from the forms and rhythms of nature. It evokes the sensual qualities of water slipping over rocks, the dappling of sunlight through dense foliage, and the organic asymmetry found in natural landscapes—all while rooted firmly within an urban, aspirational narrative.

imageFrom the very first glance, the building's sculptural façade makes an undeniable statement. A dynamic interplay of curved architectural elements, layered vertically and horizontally, marks a distinct departure from typical commercial frontages. The entrance is framed by a dramatically lit portal, equipped with pinpoint lighting fixtures that mirror the constellation-dotted night sky. This subtle, celestial illusion not only lends a sense of wonder but also sets the tone for the experiential journey that awaits within.
