State Bank of India for YONO SBI Singapore Mobile App

For the Finnoviti 2025 Awards, State Bank of India filed a nomination for its YONO mobile app in Singapore. YONO is the flagship product of State Bank of India. Under the Yono-Global project for Foreign Offices, the YONO SBI Singapore Mobile banking application was developed and launched by SBI Chairman on 17.10.2024. The app has 50+ digital journeys and integrations with top notch international partners. It has a complete suite of features - digital onboarding, INR remittance for customers and non-customers, bill payments, deposit account creation, Paynow instant local payments through regulatory platform and risk-based authentication.

Post the launch, the app has made significant impact in Singapore's financial ecosystem and helped SBI Singapore to drive business through customer onboarding and transaction processing. The INR remittance with competitive exchange rates and minimum processing fees has also facilitated cross border remittances.

The app is developed using JavaScript, Angular JS, HTML and Eclipse. The IBM's AIX OS, Oracle Database and a 3-tier multimode deployment architecture provides high availability, sound resiliency and ensure 24x7 availability. The app has been hardened with best-in-class security solutions for root detection, jail broken check, SSL pinning, payload encryption, emulator detection that ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of financial data. The application has undergone highest levels of security review and complies to the Technology Risk Management guidelines of Monetary Authority of Singapore.
