Banking Frontiers
|April 2026
What are some of the areas where intra-organization communication between men and women can greatly benefit from greater clarity?
Highlights:
➤ Intra-organization communication between men and women benefits most when there is clarity of roles, expectations, authority, and intent.
➤ Clarity strengthens collaboration, reduces bias, and helps achieve organizational goals.
➤ Ambiguity creates silent barriers.
➤ The more structured and transparent communication becomes, the more meritocratic the system feels.
➤ Directness should not be misinterpreted as aggression, and collaboration should not be misread as lack of assertiveness.
➤ Often, men articulate career ambitions and resource needs more directly, while women may expect performance to speak for itself.
➤ Working in teams is inherently an exercise in sound communication.
➤ When transparency becomes part of how people collaborate, men and women communicate more effectively.
➤ When organizations make expectations explicit, men and women interact with far fewer invisible rules and unspoken cues, creating a more equitable environment.
➤ Women often receive vague, nurturing feedback while men receive direct, actionable inputs
Anyuta Modi, Director, The Surat People's Co-Operative Bank
Intra-organization communication between men and women benefits most when there is clarity of roles, expectations, authority, and intent. The word CLARITY itself describe the clear communication that must be precise and concise. There must be clear thinking that should be sharp and insightful and mental and visual state of mind. From the beginning of my career, I was inspired and supported by my elder brother. We studied together, openly discussed concepts, and cleared doubts through transparent communication. During bank audits, his guidance, domain knowledge, and the clear division of work between us helped us lead teams efficiently and deliver results with confidence.
