A BOLD DEBUT

Does the Motorola Razr book-fold justify the Rs 1.49 lakh price tag on debut?
THERE IS something genuinely poetic about holding the Motorola Razr Fold in 2026. The year matters because in 2004, Motorola gave the world the original Razr, a phone so impossibly slim and cool that it became one of the bestselling handsets of all time.
Fast forward two decades, and the Moto Razr Fold arrives as a proper, book-style foldable that opens wide like a small tablet. Full circle, then. The question is whether it is a satisfying full circle. At Rs 1,49,999, it had better be.
Build Quality: The Hinge is the Key
Start with the hinge, because it is the most important part of any foldable. Motorola has used titanium here, and the difference is immediately tangible. The phone opens smoothly and snaps shut with a deeply satisfying click. What also impresses is the flatness of the device when fully unfolded: unlike many competing foldables, the Razr Fold lies completely flat with no ridge at the hinge area. The aluminium frame feels premium, the device is surprisingly light for its display size, and it carries IP46, IP48, and IP49 ratings for water resistance. That falls short of the IP68 on the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, but everyday spills are handled without drama. Avoid the beach, however.
What About the Crease?Yes, there is a crease. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. That said, it is minimal compared to most competitors, though the Oppo Find N6 does edge it out. You notice it in certain lighting conditions and completely stop registering it by day three.
Display: The Part That's Worth the Money
Two screens, both genuinely excellent.
