England striker Gary Lineker banged in a hat-trick when we beat Norwich City 4-0 at White Hart Lane in February 1990.
Manager Terry Venables had brought Lineker to Tottenham just before the start of the season, but he did not score in his first five games – until he hit the net in our 2-2 draw with Norwich at Carrow Road in September.
Despite the scoreline, City performed well enough on that Sunday afternoon to keep our own goalkeeper, Erik Thorstvedt, on his toes but it was the efficiency of our finishing that proved decisive with Lineker’s second hat-trick of the season totally deserved.

OBITUARY – JOHNNIE HILLS
We were saddened to hear of the passing of John ‘Johnnie’ Hills, a defender who spent 11 years at the Club as an amateur and professional between 1950-61. He passed away at home in Brussels, Belgium, on Friday, 26 November, aged 87.
