Exclusive interview with Danish midfielder PIERRE-EMILE HOJBJERG, ever-present throughout our Premier League campaign in his first season in N17 and determined to achieve big things during his time with us.

ALL HALL THE GREAT DANE!

While sitting down with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for this interview, we read out a list of names to him. It went: ‘Eriksen, Eriksen, Eriksen, Schmeichel, Eriksen, Eriksen, Schmeichel, Schmeichel.’

Our Danish midfielder smiled, having a fairly good idea whose name was next on that list.

“I think it’s me,” he smiled.

If proof were needed of Pierre’s outstanding season at the club and international level, it was breaking the stranglehold our former favorite Christian Eriksen and Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel had on the Danish Player of the Year award. The two players had won it eight times between them since 2013, but Pierre ended that duopoly in March.

Since then, he’s taken his run to 48 appearances out of 53 in all competitions, including an ever-present record of 33 starts in 33 matches in the Premier League, playing every minute, a record held only by Pierre and Hugo Lloris this season.

“I’ve enjoyed my football, enjoyed my performances,” he told us. “I’ve tried to keep my consistency, tried to be the best team player I can be because then I know the team is benefiting and eventually, I will benefit.
