Climate Change Alarms Ring In Northeast India

For the longest time, climate change was something that would only come up once or twice a year, and that too, only in conferences and discussions, but now with the consequences of climate change affecting people across the globe, the topic is not only being discussed at length by researchers and activists, but has also found a place in conversations taking place in classrooms, corporate office spaces and coffee shops. In fact, the problem has grown to such levels that almost all developed nations have listed it as a top priority that needs to be dealt with at the earliest. According to a recently published report from the University of Cambridge, that used data from 174 countries, dating back to 1960, showed that climate change may shrink India’s economy by 10 percent by the end of the century. It also suggests that virtually all countries–rich or poor, hot or cold–will suffer economically unless the Paris Agreement holds.
