Gerda Kleynhans, 63 believes in three things; education, respect and working hard for what you want.
In 2018, Gerda Kleynhans and her husband Robert, were preparing for retirement after four decades working in the education sector. The plan was to head back to her home country South Africa and spend time relaxing in
her beach front house surrounded by family and friends. But because the work of an educator is never done, she was rerouted to Kenya to oversee the SABIS International School in Runda.
You are the Academic Quality Coordinator (AQC) at SABIS® Runda. What does your job involve?
My work involves promoting the school in Kenya and making sure that the children are getting a proper education. I also train teachers to ensure that the teaching methodology is up to standard. It is a role I had held in the SABIS International School of Choueifat, Egypt for 15 years and I absolutely loved it.
