If you were locked up in an empty room for 3 hours with your partner, with no access to external forms of entertainment, would you enjoy each other’s company? Would you have interesting experiences to share, or after a while you would run out of things to say? Or would you feel suffocated and begin to irritate each other?
Alone time with your significant other ought to be enjoyable for the both of you. With the passage of time, the initial sparks you felt when you first met will dwindle. And every relationship has moments when either, or both of the partners feel that the union has become dull. But these phases come and go.
However, if you find yourself in a state of constantly feeling tired and unexcited in the relationship, then it’s not a passing stage in your love life. Boredom will be the prevailing mood unless you take steps to remedy your situation.
THINGS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR RELATIONSHIP LESS FUN
You fake it
Your relationship will eventually become boring if you are not yourself. Perhaps your partner prefers the quiet reserved kind of woman. But that is not your personality. Everyone, except your man, knows you are the life of the party. You can out-talk anyone, anywhere in any circumstance. But in his presence you pretend to be what he desires. Or perhaps your idea of a perfect date is dining on grilled prawns in a high-end hotel. But you pretend to be super excited when he takes you out for mbuzi choma (roasted goat) in a smoke-filled kibanda (roadside eatery). Faking anything continuously is not fun. In fact it can lead to depression and other mental illnesses. Perhaps you should show the fellow your true colours and hope he likes what he sees. And if he does not, search for somebody who will appreciate the real you.
