INVESTIGATIVE STEALTH PUZZLER WITH AN INTRIGUING PREMISE

Chris Burke
The Occupation

Set in an alternate 1987 timeline of UK civil unrest and political paranoia, The Occupation ambitiously strives to replicate ’80s British political thrillers such as Defence Of The Realm and Edge Of Darkness, while tapping into some of the more insidious aspects of our current Brexit debacle.

As investigative reporter Harvey Miller, you’re attempting to uncover the truth behind a terrorist bombing against the backdrop of a proposed Parliamentary Act that aims to forcibly repatriate illegal immigrants. Of course, the resulting infringement of civil liberties is already causing mass rioting in the streets. The chief architect of the Act is a private company, Bowman Carson, based in the fictional city of Turing, and a bomb attack on its HQ, resulting in 23 deaths at the apparent hands of an immigrant worker, has caused a knee-jerk rushing through of this ‘Union Act’. Of course, not all is as it seems, and it’s up to you to uncover the truth.

About time

Each chapter (aside from one or two expository flashback sequences) culminates in an interview with Bowman Carson personnel. Before each interview you’re given one hour of real time in which to snoop around and gather key evidence, so you can nail those interviews and get the truth from the subjects.
