Frankie took after her mom’s good combination of humor and classy eloquence. She also admits to being an extrovert—but with some reservations.

“I’m an extrovert. I’m not an open book, but I’m loud. I think one of the misconceptions about extrovert/introvert is, like, kapag malakas boses mo ’tsaka napaka-ano ka, extrovert ka. ’Tapos, introvert ka kung quiet ka lang diyan sa likod.

“But that’s not really true. You have quiet people who were more, like, open and you have really loud people naman who aren’t quite as willing to put what’s inside outside, you know.

“So, yeah, I’d say I’m loud, but then I don’t think I’m out there.”

With big sis KC Concepcion living on her own, Frankie is the designated ate in the Pangilinan home. And though it’s not easy taking care of her younger siblings Miel and Miguel, it’s a responsibility Frankie enjoys.

“It’s hard when the parents are gone, kasi, di ba, I’m in charge? You’ll have this little seven-year-old boy going into your room saying, ‘Ate, can we play chess?’ And it’s like, ‘Miguel, I’m trying to write an essay…’ So funny. Ang cute naman ng mga bunso.”

It was on June 20, 2016, that Frankie Pangilinan posted, on the audio-sharing website Sound Cloud, her cover of the song “La Vie en Rose”—specifically, the English version of the 1945 French hit by Edith Piaf.
