Like the way MG Motor India brought in a revolution with the MG Hector, ZS and Gloster with its high tech features, the MG Astor will be redefining the SUV C segment where the likes of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun (the latest entrant) rule.
Not only will the Astor be India’s first SUV with personal AI assistant, it will also be the first-in-segment to have Autonomous (Level 2) technology. Astor is based on MG’s successful global platform, ZS.
The Astor will have two petrol engine options – the Brit Dynamic 220 Turbo engine and VTi Tech. We got the former to drive.
As a first in segment, the Astor gets a digital key with Bluetooth technology. In case of emergency or loss of key one can use the digital key not only to unlock and lock your car, but even start and drive your car.
EXTERIOR
The Astor has a L X W X H of 4323mmx1809mm x1650mm respectively and a wheelbase of 2585mm. The Astor is a good looker with its prominent bold celestial grille and the MG logo right in the middle. It has hawk eye shaped LED headlamps with nine crystal diamond elements within. These are auto headlamps. It has front fog lamp with cornering assist as well as rain-sensing wipers.
As you move to the side, you get to see turbine-inspired machined alloys. The main wheel size is 215/55 R17 while the spare wheel is 215/60 Rs 16 and is made of steel. Heated ORVMs, smart roof rails, an aesthetically designed belt line, the Brit Dynamic badge make up rest of the side profile of the vehicle.

BMW iX E-Car Achieves 5-Stars In Euro NCAP Test
The BMW iX premium electric car which has been launched in India, has achieved five-star ratings in all test categories of the Euro NCAP crash test. In the assessment of adult occupant protection, the testers highlighted among other features the effectiveness of the new interactive airbag between the driver and front passenger seats, which provides additional protection against injury in the event of a side collision. Child safety in the rear of the BMW iX was also given the highest possible score for both frontal and side collisions.
