Endurance Technologies to Set Up Test Track, Expand Product Portfolio

To grow and compete better in a fast globalising and highly competitive automotive industry, Endurance Technologies is working to cultivate an environment of being a solutions provider too. Strengthening holistic engineering capabilities is key to succeed here. Therefore, it is investing on a new test track in Aurangabad. Ravindra Kharul, Endurance Technologies' chief technology officer, is enthused about this “one-of-a-kind" project in the Indian component industry. "We are already at the advanced stage of design and should start the construction very soon," he says.

Endurance Technologies plans to inaugurate the test track on January 1, 2018. The 7-8 kilometre long test facility with a high-speed stretch of a little over a kilometre will see an investment of Rs 35-40 crore. The track will serve as a test facility for the brakes, suspension and transmission divisions of the company. Its key highlight will be a full fledged ABS testing track. Automotive engineering and development services firm Horiba MIRA has been commissioned to design the track. This proving ground will significantly help Endurance Technologies to improve its technological capabilities and offer upgraded technology solutions to its customers.

R&D CENTRES TO THE FORE

The company already has four in-house dedicated R&D centres, all of which are DSIR (Department of Scientific & Industrial Research) approved, for each of its product segments. A testament to the results of the growing focus on engineering is the ‘Grand Award for Quality, Cost, Delivery, Development & Management (QCDDM) Performance 2016-17’ by Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, which Endurance Technologies received at the February 2017 vendor conference by HMSI.
