A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnap after allegedly approaching three schoolchildren in Northumberland. Police were called to a street in Ashington over the weekend following a report of suspicious activity.

Police say they received a report that a man had allegedly approached three school-aged children on Sycamore Street in Ashington. ‘The incident is said to have happened at around 2.20pm on Saturday.
