Farming inheritance tax changes ‘not about revenue generation’, says shadow minister

Speaking on the opening day of the 2025 Royal Cornwall Show, Robbie Moore claimed the controversial proposals, announced in the Autumn Budget last October, signalled a shift in the Government's agenda “away from food production”.

Addressing a sold-out political breakfast organised by the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) Mr Moore, the Conservative MP for Keighley and Ilkley in West Yorkshire, said reforms to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR), due to come into force from April 2026, would affect “every family farming business”.
