But don't engage with the cravings. ‘When cravings arise, say to yourself: “That's just a thought, not a command.” This effectively disempowers it,’ says hypnotherapist Anna Lancaster.
USE THE 'FIVE-MINUTE SHIFT' TECHNIQUE
This should help your craving fade. ‘When you notice the onset of food noise [persistent and intrusive thoughts about food], set a timer for five minutes and make a conscious choice to do something else, such as a walk or calling a friend,’ says Anna.
