The Radio 2 host talks co-parenting and how Take Me Out lives on

I'M NOT DATING RIGHT NOW

I might be hard to believe but Paddy McGuinness has been on our screens for 25 years. From the early days with Peter Kay on Phoenix Nights to legendary dating show Take Me Out and a stint hosting Top Gear, he's been in the public eye for half his life.

Now, with a BBC Radio 2 show, Paddy is spending more time with his children, twins Leo and Penelope, 12, and Felicity, nine – who he co-parents with ex-wife Christine.

All three children have been diagnosed with autism, and the pair have been open about their struggles dealing with this – the subject of a TV documentary. Although they have continued to live together, their Cheshire home is now on the market. We caught up with Paddy, 52, at the recent Radio 2 In The Park music event to find out what he's got coming up.

What have you been up to and do you have any new shows lined up?

I have my Radio 2 slot every Sunday. I think for me personally, and with the music on the show and everything else, I was so thrilled to get it. I've just got fully into it and immersed myself in it, so it's been great.
