A week can be a long time in politics. The same can be said for the royals. After the King's initial move to solve the 'Prince Andrew problem' by forcing him to stop using his aristocratic titles and honours didn't stop the flood of public and Parliamentary outrage, he had to go further.

Andrew- and his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein - remained a huge issue due to more damaging revelations from the US investigation, more victims' testimony, and Virginia Giuffre's autobiography.

It overshadowed the King's historic visit to the Vatican, he was heckled on an official engagement as to how much he knew, and MPs were demanding answers on Andrew's rent-free residency at Royal Lodge.
