Decades after its aborted Venus mission, Kosmos 482 crashes into Indian Ocean

A Soviet-era spacecraft designed to land on Venus in the 1970s has fallen to Earth, more than half a century after its mission failed.
Kosmos 482 reentered Earth's atmosphere in an uncontrolled fashion, its demise having been confirmed by both Roscosmos and European Union Space Surveillance and Tracking.
