SOME LIKE IT HOT

AMIDST all the constant chatter in the motoring world about electric and hybrid powered cars it’s really good to see that there's still plenty of life left in the good old-fashioned hot hatchback sector where the key has always been raw, turbocharged petrol sports performance power.

Thankfully Honda still sell their illustrious hot version of their Civic - still called the Type R - which the real sporty petrolheads continue to rave about and it’s easy to see why with an exhilarating acceleration of 0 to 62mph in 5.4 seconds and a road-going performance that excites any driver that sits behind the steering wheel.
The sporty Type R version of the Civic first arrived here back in 1977 and here we are now with its sixth generation model still going strong as a front engine, front-wheel-drive hot hatchback that remains quite a cult model in today’s ever changing motoring scene.
But this current petrol powered Type R will be the last of its kind as such as Honda's backroom teams are still working on hopefully but in time bringing in an all-electric version so drivers should make the most of this final all-petrol version.
Each version the Honda backroom team comes out with is incredibly always an improvement on the previous one and this latest incarnation is no different except of course it has many subtle changes, such as in its styling cues, that only further enhances its appeal to those drivers looking for some true road-going sports performance.
