Multimillion-pound leisure centre for west London starting to take shape

THE construction of a multimillion-pound leisure centre in West London is entering its final phases as builders aim to have the centre ready to open in the new year.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) headed down to the site to get a first look at what residents can expect once it opens.
The Platinum Jubilee Leisure Centre, in West Drayton, will be owned by Hillingdon Council and initially began construction in 2022. It is set to feature three swimming pools including a 25-metre pool, a rooftop 3G artificial pitch and a multi-use sports hall.
On what used to be a former youth and training centre, the leisure centre will also boast a spin studio, a split-level gym, a dance studio, a café and a function room. On the ground floor, the three different swimming pools have been built.
