City singer hopes 'funky' single will be a smash-hit!

TALENTED musician Florence is hoping for a hit with her latest 'funky' single.

The 24-year-old mum-of-two has spent a year perfecting her pop anthem Summer Dreams, working with producers Mark Eyden and Tom Bailey at Hanley’s Sun Street Studios. It was, she says, a ‘labour of love!

Florence, of Ball Green, whose real name is Courtney Betts, said: “This is actually my second go at music. I released my first single under a different name, but it wasn’t my best. I'm really happy with this new song though. It’s got that positive vibe that really matches the sunny weather we've been having.

“I've never put so much time and effort into something before. I spent the last year working on it getting it ready for the sun to come out this year.

“I wouldn’t normally have the patience, but this song feels so much better for it. I'm very proud of it. Juggling making it with being a mum has been very difficult but it’s made it all the more rewarding.
