Drunk partner became aggressive after accusing her of cheating

AN electrician has avoided prison for beating up his partner of seven years after accusing her of cheating on him.

David Spencer had been drinking on March 22 last year when he assaulted the mother of his child.

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard the 39-year-old pushed his victim, slammed a door on her multiple times and kicked her whilst on the ground.

He also got on top of her, grabbed her hair and neck and repeatedly slammed her head against the floor.

She was left with a cut to her head, bruising all over her body, and she suffers from long term ligament damage in her fingers after he shut the door on them.
