Developer offering to revamp play area too
NEARLY 100 homes could be built on an empty patch of land - if borough planners agree.
Developer Bloor Homes wants to build 96 properties in fields off Bullocks House Road in Harriseahead.
It is also offering to renovate a nearby children's play area, under plans submitted to Newcastle Borough Council. The site, just outside the village, extends to almost eight acres.
The plans say 29 of the homes would be classed as 'affordable housing, with access to the site from Bullocks House Road.
