Maisug-Cebu, Baricuatro clash over Duterte endorsements?
The Freeman
|April 15, 2025
Hakbang ng Maisug-Cebu has publicly questioned the motives of its former lead convenor and now gubernatorial candidate Pamela Baricuatro, accusing her of sidelining key Duterte-endorsed candidates.
-
Baricuatro, however, denied the accusations, saying she has consistently supported all PDP-Laban and Duterte-backed bets and urged the group to rise above politics and stay focused on their shared goals.
In one of his many recent posts on his Facebook page, Elmer “EB” Jugalbot, one of the Maisug-Cebu's co-convenors, questioned the intention of Baricuatro's campaign and criticized her for allegedly excluding Atty. Vic Rodriguez: one of the 10 senatorial candidates endorsed by PDP chairman and former President Rodrigo Duterte-from her campaign sorties.
“We also heard stories that Pam is dropping Atty. Vic in her campaign sorties, but still we kept quiet. However, the rally in Samboan, Cebu, yesterday is the final straw that broke the camel’s back. We can no longer tolerate these treacherous actions by no less than Pam Baricuatro—the PDP-Laban candidate for Cebu governor,” Jugalbot said.
In response, Baricuatro stressed in a Facebook post that the solidarity ride in Samboan was not her initiative, but one she supported.
