Jonkie requires Mandaue gov't workers to wear ID

Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo “Jonkie” Ouano wore his official ID, clearly displaying his full name and designation as mayor, as a gesture of leadership and transparency — setting an example for fellow public servants in the city government to follow.

Ouano told reporters in an interview yesterday, July 18, 2025, that he had issued a memorandum requiring all city government employees to wear their official IDs while on duty.

He noted that his own ID was only released yesterday, while others are still being processed due to the ongoing transition period within the city government.

According to Ouano, the ID policy promotes transparency and helps visitors or those transacting at City Hall easily identify the personnel they are dealing with, ensuring smoother and more accountable public service.

“Duha ka semana pa baya ni nato. At least muingon sila, nisul-ob gani ang amahan sa syudad, musunod ra sad to ang mga staff nato sa city government,” said Mayor Ouano.

“So lead by example lang ta,” he said.
