Impounded vehicle owners urged: Prepare as TEAM grants amnesty

Vehicle owners in Mandaue City with units impounded by the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM) are advised to ready their wallets, as preparations are now underway for the release of these vehicles under a newly approved amnesty program.
The Mandaue City Traffic Management Board has officially scheduled the amnesty period from May 2 to July 31, allowing owners to reclaim impounded motorcycles and vehicles by paying reduced fees. The amnesty applies only to storage fees, which have long been a burden to vehicle owners.
"The traffic board has decided kung kanus-a isugod katong 3-month period nga paggahimuon ang amnesty," said TEAM head Hyll Retuya.
Under City Ordinance No. 16-2025-1945, vehicle owners will need to pay only a flat storage fee of P1,000, in addition to the fines for any traffic violations incurred. The ordinance grants relief from the accumulated daily storage fees, which have prevented many from reclaiming their vehicles.
