CSCR safety ordinance in the works

An ordinance to promote safety on the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) facilities by prohibiting pedestrians and other activities, and by providing enforcement mechanisms, is now underway to address the number of accidents in the area.
This is the proposed ordinance of Councilor Rey Gealon, which stemmed from data gathered by the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO), revealing that from January 1 to March 31, 2023, a total of 2,132 vehicular accidents occurred in Cebu City.
During the same period, 239 incidents were recorded within the CSCR corridor, considered a crucial road infrastructure linking Cebu City to neighboring localities facilitating the movement of goods and people.
