Girl, 17, tragically dies following collision on A19

A 17-year-old girl has sadly died and another teenager has been left with serious injuries following a road traffic collision on the A19 which took place at just after 11pm on Monday.
Northumbria Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
It took place on the northbound carriageway between the B1404 turnoff for Seaham and the A690 Herrington Interchange.
The road was closed or partially closed for around 11 hours whilst police officers carried out investigations.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Just after 11pm Monday, we received a report of a collision involving a yellow Vauxhall Corsa on the A19 northbound.
