Road upgrade is key milestone for economic growth

Major road improvement works on the A1290 at the International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP) have now been completed, marking a significant milestone for economic growth in Sunderland and South Tyneside.

The A1290 dualling works have been completed.

Esh Construction has finished the A1290 dualling works, delivering a major upgrade to one of the North East's key transport routes. The scheme was delivered in partnership with IAMP LLP, a joint venture between Sunderland City Council and South Tyneside Council.

The project involved widening the existing single carriageway, upgrading junctions and introducing improved pedestrian and cycle facilities across the 370-acre IAMP site.
