SNP'S HANDED £6BN BOOST TO NHS BUT KEEP MOANING

THE SNP government will be handed a near-£6bilion Union boost to the crumbling NHS but Nats have still found room to complain.

It has been confirmed the Scottish Government will receive £5.8bn for health spending after Chancellor Rachel Reeves' spending review last month. Ms Reeves laid out her spending plans for the next three years, with the Scottish Government due to see a £9.1bn uplift in that period.

On Monday, the UK Government laid out a breakdown of the cash which will be sent north of the border through the Barnett formula as a result of the announcement.

The highest increase will be seen in health spending, with a boost of £5.8bn. While Holyrood is free to allocate money how it wishes, ministers have said that any increase as a result of health spending south of the border will be passed on to the NHS in Scotland.
