New Gers boss says sorry to fans after a dismal debut in Norway

- BY SCOTT MCDERMOTT

ROHL'S SOGGY BRANN FLAKES

DANNY ROHL apologised to Rangers fans after his side were battered by Brann in a disastrous debut for the Ibrox boss.

Rohl jumped over the stadium's advertising hoardings in Bergen after a 3-0 Europa League humbling to say sorry.

Travelling Gers supporters jeered their players off the pitch in Norway after a third straight Europa League loss left their qualification hopes hanging by a thread.

Rohl admitted it was a reality check just four days into the job after taking over from Russell Martin.

Brann cruised to victory thanks to goals from Emil Kornvig, Jacob Sorensen and Noah Holm. When asked if he expected better from his players, the German said: “Yeah, of course. We should have high standards at Rangers.

“It was clear that everything couldn't be right but we are very disappointed at a 3-0 defeat.

“I apologised [to the fans] for this defeat and the performance. They've travelled a lot for the team and they're always there.

“This club has a lot of passionate fans and they deserve this.
