Sandbach move into comfort zone with vital weekend win

|July 16, 2025
SANDBACH put more daylight between themselves and the NSSCL Division One drop zone by winning at Endon.
-
It was a low-scoring affair, but the win now leaves Sandbach 25 points clear of the bottom two.
Visitors Sandbach took first use at Post Lane, but could only muster 114 all out.
Umer Waheed (37) and Sean Manning (23) made the biggest contributions with the bat, while Jack Chell (5-18) and Josh Tittensor (3-26) did likewise with the ball for the hosts.
That small total was enough, though, as Endon were skittled for 92 in reply, despite Vinodh Perera making 26.
Ben Guildford and Manning were the bowling heroes for Sandbach, taking 5-38 and 3-18 respectively.
Cheadle seconds and Rode Park & Lawton remain level on points at the top after both won at the weekend.
Cheadle prevailed at home against Moddershall & Oulton seconds, while Rode Park & Lawton saw off Silverdale.
The Modd men managed to reach 175 all out on their visit to Cheadle on Saturday.
Kamran Khan (42), Charlie Price (32no), Ravi Lindamulage (25) and Joe Mason (23) were all in fine fettle with the bat.
James Jackson fronted the Cheadle attack, finishing with 4-39, while Ryan Elwell scooped 3-22 and there were a couple of wickets for Jack Winfield.
Ben Mellor made 34 early in Cheadle’s chase, but it was Elwell who was the star of the show.
