The story behind that famous cover

YOU have to treat some album shoots like the singles final at Wimbledon...

No.8 Stratford Avenue, West Didsbury, Manchester.

From the outside, the house is your average two-up, two-down cul-de-sac property.

Inside is where the magic happened, a home that spawned over 15 million album sales worldwide.

Owned by Paul Arthurs in 1994, the property sold for £485,000 in 2016 and £144,000 some 16 years earlier.

In the front room, with its stripped wooden floorboards and bay window, photographer Michael Spencer Jones took the iconic shot which became Definitely Maybe.

Noel Gallager had an idea, along the lines of a photo - taken in Japan - of a Beatles compilation album with the Fab Four sitting around a coffee table, so he wanted Oasis sat around Bonehead's dining table.

But that was before the creativity of Jones took hold.
