Cops probe death of teen who ‘lit up every room’
HEARTBROKEN pals of a teenager who died after becoming ill at a festival have paid tribute to a girl “who touched the hearts of anyone that knew her”.
Shocked and grieving pals have also set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to support Mia Keevan's family with “the unexpected costs they face” as they prepare for the teenager's funeral.
Mia, 17, from Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary, was attending the Emerge music festival in Belfast on Sunday when she took ill.
Additionally, two other people were hospitalised after becoming unwell at the same event and a young father-of-one, who also attended the Emerge Festival, died the day after attending Day 1 of the two-day festival.
Trae Keenan from Castlewellan in Co Down, who was in his 20s, died the morning after the Saturday instalment of the event after being taken to hospital from a property in Wellwood Street, central Belfast.
PANIC
Local media say his sister has been reported as saying his death is not drug related, and instead stemmed from a heart attack linked to a panic attack, adding that he had a history of heart problems and asthma.
