MY partner is a vicious woman who contrives to control and belittle me.

She can't stand the thought of me having fun, or any kind of life away from her.

Last month a colleague invited me on a stag weekend to Amsterdam. I didn't bother to mention it to my partner because she wouldn't have allowed me to go - she'd have called me a “pervert” intent on ogling women and having sex with prostitutes.

I learnt my lesson back in September when my brother suggested a lad's golfing trip to celebrate him beating cancer. My partner went crazy. She accused me of being greedy and selfish. How did I propose to pay for this extravagance and what was she supposed to do while I was away?
