Matt desperate to net first win

MATT BLOOMFIELD is convinced victory over Portsmouth today can kick-start Luton's surge to safety.

The Hatters are in deep trouble, rooted at the foot of the table and five points from safety.

And with games fast disappearing, the club is at risk of suffering back-to-back relegations after dropping out of the Premier League last season.

Bloomfield was charged with stopping the rot in January when he was brought in to succeed Rob Edwards.

But the former Wycombe manager is still looking for his first win after eight games in charge.

The meeting with Pompey marks the latest chance to end that streak and secure the club's first win since before Christmas.
