Lampard on McCoist's Rangers wish list again

The Ibrox great - who also managed the club from 2011 to 2014 - admitted, however, that the club’s chances of getting the Sky Blues head coach were “nearly impossible”.

Lampard’s stock has gone up another level this season after guiding City to an unbeaten start to the new Championship campaign, scoring a whopping 27 goals in the process and keeping five clean sheets to take them to top of the league after just nine games.

McCoist has long been critical of Rangers’ team displays this season and admitted Russell Martin's sacking had not come as a shock.
