Opposition growing for plan to change flat into an HMO

RESIDENTS are frustrated at plans to change a flat into a five-bedroomed house of multiple occupation (HMO) in Acocks Green.

The upper two floors of 51 Yardley Road were converted into an HMO in 2022 and the owner was granted a temporary licence. The ground floor is a one-bed apartment.
Cllr Roger Harmer (Lib Dem, Acocks Green) said he would be fighting the proposal as the area is saturated with similar schemes and there is a shortage of family homes.
