A BIRMINGHAM man tried to smuggle 80 alligator heads through an airport to sell them on eBay.
Mahesh Kumar initially brought one head back from America for himself but then tried to make extra income after friends and family asked about them.
The heads were intercepted at East Midlands Airport on two separate occasions despite being mislabelled.
The 52-year-old former chef, of Jayshaw Avenue, Great Barr, pleaded guilty to two charges of fraudulently evading a prohibition. He was sentenced to 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months, at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.
