Fixture move not BOXING clever

A S BRMB sport listeners will remember, I have for decades been concerned about the way supporters are only seen as a benefit by the Premier League to entice TV to hand over more money.

Villa striker Ollie Watkins celebrates after scoring against Liverpool at Villa Park on Boxing Day, 2022
The Premier League have sold their soul to TV companies with scant regard for the needs of the supporters.
This not about individual clubs but about the Premier League.
Yes, for us fans following our team is a family tradition come wind, rain snow or sunshine we turn up. Make no mistake about it, without supporters, TV would not pay a penny for the broadcast rights in my opinion.
Now we have kickoff times to suit TV schedules and not suit the needs of the supporters and their families. Sunday night 8pm kickoffs in the Premier League says just how little the fans needs are considered.
The latest nonsense is that there are no afternoon Premier League fixtures on Boxing Day. Going to a game on Boxing Day is a traditional part of football with most grounds full. Boxing Day games were as much a part of Christmas as turkey, Christmas pudding, or Christmas crackers.
After a Christmas Day of overeating and drinking, going to a game on Boxing Day with your family or friends along with your turkey sandwiches and a couple of mince pies and a pocketful of chocolates from the tin of Rose's or Quality Street was an intrinsic part of the holidays.
