FOOTAGE of a dangerous driver narrowly missing a mum pushing a pram on a zebra crossing is just one of the shocking crimes captured on dashcam and sent to the police team tasked with stamping out bad driving.

In another clip, a motorist blatantly puffs on a gold balloon while at the wheel and on a busy motorway.

A taxi driver uses his phone in his lap with both hands while halted at a traffic light in a third.

The footage was sent in via public dashcam to Operation Snap - a police initiative to catch out bad driving across the West Midlands.

The Birmingham Mail had a behind-the-scenes look at the operation, and learned that some drivers don't even realise they've committed a crime.

Inside the police HQ at Lloyd House, the 11-strong team review up to 80 submissions a day sent in via the online portal.
