Bus stop stab attacker jailed for two years

A MAN who was stabbed on a bus in an unprovoked attack said he cannot understand the incident.

The victim was targeted by Luke Somers, who has mental health issues and had been drinking.

The 40-year-old confronted the victim at a stop in Birmingham centre where he had been chatting to others.

Somers shoved him in the back on the No 51 service, which he only boarded to get away from the assailant.

After more aggressive behaviour, the victim got off the bus and caught a taxi back to his hotel and it was then he realised felt a pain in his back which turned out to be a stab wound.

The man was taken to hospital where the 50mm deep ‘superficial’ injury was sealed.
