2 teens arrested after blaze at historic hotel

TWO teenage girls have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a historic landmark hotel in a Midland town was destroyed by fire.

Investigators say they believe the blaze at the Grade II-listed Raven Hotel in Droitwich was “started deliberately” on Sunday afternoon.

Two girls, 13 and 14, were arrested on suspicion of arson and later released on bail.

The blaze broke out at the building, which has been derelict for over a decade, at around 4.45pm.

Luckily, no-one was injured but locals were devastated by the destruction of a major landmark in the small town centre.

Firefighters had battled into Sunday evening to try to save the black and white timber frame building.
