Carpentry roots, engineering precision, and a belief in timeless design – M2 Decor's story unfolds in layers, revealing how function and form can coexist without compromise.

The Geometry of Design

M2 Decor’s story begins not with glossy catalogues or design packages, but with sawdust and sweat. Founded as a carpentry business, the company built its reputation behind the scenes, supplying well-crafted furniture and fittings for larger renovation projects. “Those early experiences taught us the importance of precision, practicality, and onsite problem-solving,” recalls Benjamin Toh, who now leads the firm. “One milestone was completing a 2,500 sqft unit with a contract sum of $350,000 in under six weeks. It pushed our limits but also proved what a dedicated, detail-oriented team could achieve.”

imageThat detail-oriented approach became the foundation for the company’s next chapter. When Benjamin, son of founder Mr. Toh, joined the business, he brought with him a background in aerospace and mechanical engineering. “I noticed a troubling trend: the industry was often driven more by sales packages and commissions than by thoughtful, functional design,” he says. His solution? Rebrand M2 Decor into a full-service, design-and-build studio that puts integrity and craft before quick wins.

imageBenjamin wasn't alone in this shift. With coworkers Kevin and Leon, and the many longstanding foreign workers who travelled far from home to support M2D's growth, the company became a collaborative unit where every member played a vital role — from carpentry precision to project execution. Benjamin credits much of this progress to their dedication and sacrifice, acknowledging that M2D's integrated, in-house approach was shaped not by him alone, but by the collective effort of a team that continues to define the company today.
